Doreen pitied Clive as he studied and then worked so hard he never seemed to find time for romance in his life. Looking at Ruth and Clive in deep conversation with both their sparkling eyes, she finally thought that Clive would have a chance of living, instead of just existing.

As the day drew to a close Clive asked Ruth if he could walk her home. When they got there, she invited him in for coffee, and he accepted. She put on some soft music while she prepared the coffee and he settled on the couch. He suggested that she might like to go for a drive in the mountains the next day. He then explained that his passion away from work was Paragliding, and he usually went to Tambourine Mountain on Sundays. She said she would love to go with him.
